If you need to replace the ferrule nut on your water softener system, you've made it to the right place. The ferrule nut connects the brine hose to the venturi assembly, under the top cover. Let's go through the instructions together to get your new part on properly.
Tools Needed: Scissors, Pliers
1. First, you'll want to remove the softener's top cover. For additional instructions, click here.
2. Locate the black brine hose, attached to the left side of the venturi. It will either connect directly to the venturi port, or connect to an elbow on the venturi. Go ahead and unscrew the ferrule nut by twisting it counterclockwise.

3. Now you'll need to grab your scissors. Cut the hose just below the ferrule nut to remove it. Make sure to cut it squarely and not at a slant. This will make sure we can get a good seal.
4. Slide your new ferrule nut onto the hose. The threaded side of the nut should face away from the hose.
5. Now you'll push the end of the brine hose into the gray circular port of the elbow or directly to the venturi port. Then twist the ferrule nut clockwise to secure it on.
6. Take your pliers and lightly tighten the ferrule nut, which will crimp the hose as you are screwing, so you may feel some resistance. Be careful not to damage the threads or screw the nut on too tight.
7. You should make sure it's secure, so pull gently on the brine hose to confirm.
8. Last step is to place the top cover back on the softener! You're done!
