Need to replace your brine valve assembly? Don't sweat it! We've got you! Follow the instructions below and you'll have your new one installed in no time.
Locate Your Serial Number
Find the Serial Number printed on the inside rim of the tank, under the salt lid hinges.
Click on your Model below to expand directions:
First seven digits of your serial number.
1. First, you'll bypass your softener by pushing the white bypass handle in.
2. Go ahead and remove the top cover of your unit. If you need additional instructions on how, click here.
3. Now, you'll disconnect the Brine hose from the Venturi (white cone piece). The port may leak, so feel free to grab a bowl or towel and put it below. Identify yours below.
- If yours has a white nut attached to the Venturi: unscrew the nut by twisting it counter-clockwise and pull the hose off.
- If your hose doesn't have that white nut, you have the 'push to connect' type. For this type, you'll need to push the small collet piece in and pull the hose out at the same time to remove.
4. In the salt tank, locate the Brinewell (tube with number scale). You can see the black brine hose travels down into this tube.
5. Grab onto the brine hose and pull up to remove the entire float assembly from inside the brinewell. The black hose should travel easily out with you. You should end up holding the entire float assembly and black hose outside the softener.
6. Go ahead and put this assembly to the side. Grab your new assembly and place it into the brinewell. It should rest on the bottom of the tank in that tube.
7. Place the new black brine hose in the notch on the top of the brinewell.
8. Reattach the brine hose to the venturi.
- Either screw the white nut back on by twisting it clock-wise (use a pliers to tighten it lightly):
- Or insert the hose into the collet. You'll need to make sure to push it in until it you notice some resistance. Then push it in a little further. The hose should be in about 5/8 of an inch.
9. Take the system out of bypass by pulling the handle back OUT.
10. You'll need to manually run a recharge cycle now. To do this, you'll just hold the Recharge button down until you hear the motor starts to turn. During the recharge cycle (approx. 2-2 1/2 hours) you'll want to periodically check for leaks.
11. After you've monitored for leaking you can place the top cover back on the softener. You're good to go!

3. Now, you'll need to disconnect the brine hose from the venturi (cone part). Identify yours below.
- If you have one with a white nut attached, you'll need to unscrew it from the Venturi. Cut the hose on the left side of the nut, and pull the hose down through the rim from below. Take note of where the black hose disappears into the tank below, as we'll have to run the new hose up through that same port.
- If your hose doesn't have that white nut, you have the 'push to connect' type. For this type, you'll need to push the small collet piece in and pull the hose out at the same time to remove.
4. In the salt tank, locate the Brinewell (black 3” diameter tube). Take the cap off the brinewell. You'll see the black brine hose from above traveling down into the float assembly.
5. Grab onto the brine hose and pull up to remove the entire float assembly from inside the brinewell. The black hose should travel easily out with you. You should end up holding the entire float assembly and black hose outside the softener.
6. Put this assembly to the side. Grab your new assembly and place it into the brinewell. It should rest on the bottom of the tank, inside the well.
7. Place the black brine hose in the notch on the top of the brinewell and reattach the cap to the well.
8. Feed that black hose behind the fiberglass resin tank and up to the left, through the port in the tray next of the venturi.
9. Reattach the brine hose to the venturi.
