If you're having some mechanical problems with your unit, you may need to test the motor. Let's walk through these 5 steps together to find your solution.
1. You'll need to start by unplugging the unit from the outlet and removing the top cover if it's not already off. If you need additional instructions, check out How to Remove the Top Cover.
2. Now, locate the motor on top of the Valve Head. It's the black rectangular box with red and black wires coming from the side.
3. Go ahead and unscrew the two metal screws that hold the motor onto the valve.
4. Hold the motor in your hand upside down, so you can see the gear on the underside. Plug the unit back in and tap the Recharge button on the unit once.
5. Does the motor spin?
- NO; You'll probably hear repeat beeping. This means you need to replace the Motor. Check out our article What Is My Warranty, to see if you're still covered. Otherwise, information on purchasing replacement parts can be found here.
- YES; If it does start to spin, there are a couple options that we'd suggest. You can either replace just the Rotor Disc and Seals (suggested if outside of warranty) or you can choose to replace the whole valve (suggested if still under warranty.) Check out our article What Is My Warranty, to see if you're still covered. Otherwise, information on purchasing replacement parts can be found here.
