The tank light is a feature of the Kenmore 350 model only. If you need to install it or replace it, we've got you! Follow the instructions below.
Click on each step to expand directions.
Step 1 - Remove the Top Cover
a. On the back of the unit, you'll need to unhook the 2 clips that hold the cover onto the tank (like pictured below). Pull/flex the cover out and away from the softener at these clips.
b. There's 2 similar clips at the front as well. Slide the cover towards you to release the clips. Be careful not to disconnect any wires in the process. It's normal for the cover to make some noise as it moves.
Step 2 - Locate and Install
It could be in two places:
- To the left of the main valve head, find the small opening/port in the tray. The port is a few inches in front of where the black hose comes through.
- Or towards the front of the unit near the rim, find the small opening/port in the tray.
Here you should install the tank light in this port and make sure it's secure.
Step 3 - Test!
Tap the 'Tank Light' button on the control board to test it to make sure it's working. If the light doesn't turn on, you'll want to check the wires on both the light and the control board to verify they're secure.
Once you've ensured it's working, you're finished! Don't forget to put the top cover back on.
